I cover the business and emotion of the ticket market

One of comedy's biggest names is bound for the boroughs this week. Pint-size funnyman Kevin Hart is taking on the Big Apple as his "What Now?" Tour continues in New York, making multiple stops at Madison Square Garden and Brooklyn's Barclays Center through Thursday. Hart has scaled his way to the upper echelon of the comedy circuit over the last year, splitting the sides of the masses both on the big screen and on the road over his mammoth North American tour. Ticket prices will be no laughing matter, however, as Hart's upcoming run through New York is posting big numbers on the secondary market.
According to TiqIQ, the average secondary price for Kevin Hart tickets over his five-show tenure between MSG and Barclays Center is $176.22. The laughs will begin on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, which is currently the cheapest of the five dates. Kevin Hart Madison Square Garden tickets for his Tuesday night show currently average at $159.37 and the cheapest available ticket is listed for $66.
He will play two shows the following night to wrap his short stay at Madison Square Garden. The average ticket price for his 7:30pm Midtown Manhattan set on Wednesday night is now $160.69 and the get-in price is $76. Hart's final show at Madison Square Garden at 10:30pm will also be his most expensive, with tickets averaging at $195.22 on the resale market. The cheapest ticket for his MSG finale is $85. Discounted Madison Square Garden parking starts at $11 on ParkWhiz.com.
The 36-year-old Philadelphia native will then skip over the East River and into Brooklyn for two shows at the Barclays Center on Thursday. Don't expect to find much cheaper ticket prices as Hart continues to pack on the humor in Kings County. Kevin Hart Barclays Center tickets to his first show at 7pm own a secondary average of $185.72 and the get-in price is $83. His 10:30pm show has an average secondary price of $181.02 and owns the most expensive get-in price among all five NYC shows at $90. Compared to his MSG shows, fans can find cheaper Barclays Center parking starting at only $7.
Just outside the city, Hart will do two shows at Newark's Prudential Center on July 11. The combined average for the two shows is $222.63, as the early show has an average price of $229.41 and a get-in price of $86. The late show will be less expensive on average, $208.22, but will have a slightly higher get-in price at $90.
Perhaps the most recognized comedian in the world with more than 60 movie and television credits dating back to 2001, Hart and his current tour are being promoted by Live Nation as the biggest comedy tour in history. He is no stranger to a massive touring itinerary – his "Let Me Explain" Tour between 2011 and 2012 played in over 90 U.S. cities and also included European and African legs. He stands at a less-than-intimidating 5-foot-4 but has found his niche in his comedic routine, finding immense success through standup and acting since the turn of the century.
That "What Now?" Tour continues in the U.S. and Canada until September 12 and wraps at Key Arena in Seattle. The comic was originally slated to conclude with a hometown show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on August 30 but overwhelming ticket demand allowed him to tack on an additional five dates through the following month of September.
